Crafted by Nature. Harvested with Care.
Welcome to Maine Wild Harvest Co.
We're Brian and Cassie, a husband-and-wife "to-be" team from central Maine with a shared passion for the outdoors, wildlife conservation, and preserving the traditions that have been part of this state for generations.
For us, trapping and life outdoors have never been hobbies—they've been a way of life. Over time, that way of life grew into Maine Wild Harvest Co., a small family business built around one simple belief: wildlife is one of our greatest renewable resources, and every animal harvested deserves to be treated with respect and used responsibly.
Whether we're checking traps in the North Maine Woods, grading fur in our workshop, or carefully packaging an order for shipment, we're proud to share a small piece of Maine with people across the country.
Our slogan says it best:
Crafted by Nature. Harvested with Care.

Meet Brian & Cassie
Brian has spent decades trapping Maine's woods and waters, learning from generations before him and gaining firsthand knowledge of the wildlife and landscapes that make this state so special.
When Cassie joined him on the trapline, it didn't take long before she fell in love with the quiet winter mornings, snow-covered logging roads, and the traditions that come with life in the Maine woods. What started as helping on the line soon became a shared passion—and eventually, Maine Wild Harvest Co.
Today, we're still just the two of us.
We are still trapping but we also buy and grade fur, prepare pelts for the tannery, sew and create handcrafted products, photograph listings, answer customer questions, package every order, and ship everything ourselves from our shop in central Maine.
You'll also find our shop supervisor, Ozzy, close by most days. Whether we're grading fur, packing orders, or working on new projects, he's usually keeping us company (or making sure every box meets his approval). As our beloved fur kid, he's a daily reminder that our appreciation for animals extends far beyond the trapline.
People are sometimes surprised to learn that those who spend the most time managing wildlife often have the deepest respect for animals. Responsible trapping isn't about taking life lightly—it's about science-based wildlife management, conservation, and making full, respectful use of a renewable natural resource.
When you order from MWHC, you're supporting a real Maine family—including one very curious shop cat—doing work we genuinely love.
Our Philosophy
Responsible wildlife management is at the heart of everything we do.
We follow all Maine trapping regulations and state-approved Best Management Practices (BMPs), believing that healthy wildlife populations are maintained through science-based conservation and responsible stewardship.
Whenever possible, we make full use of every animal we harvest.
Beaver meat is enjoyed at our table or used to feed valuable furbearers on future traplines. Castor and oil glands are saved for lure making. Pelts are professionally tanned to create products that will last for years. Even skulls are cleaned and preserved whenever possible.
Nothing is taken for granted.
Real fur is a natural, renewable, biodegradable resource that has been valued for generations. We believe using renewable materials harvested responsibly is something worth preserving, and we're proud to continue those traditions here in Maine.
From Our Woods to Your Home
Everything we offer reflects our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and authenticity.
Our shop includes professionally tanned Maine furs, handcrafted fur products, chaga harvested from Maine forests, educational resources, and other items inspired by life outdoors.
We're also proud to serve our local trapping community as licensed fur buyers and an official Maine fur tagging station, helping fellow trappers prepare their harvests for market while supporting responsible wildlife management throughout the state.
Every order is packed by hand in our workshop and shipped with the same care we'd expect ourselves.

Thank You
Thank you for visiting Maine Wild Harvest Co.

We hope you'll follow along as we share life in the Maine woods—one season, one harvest, and one story at a time.
